InstaLILY AI, the autonomous AI platform built for the physical economy, today announced the Small Data Center (SDC), a new extension of the InstaLILY platform that brings autonomous AI directly to where work actually happens. The Small Data Center was first revealed on stage at the Y Combinator x Google DeepMind Startups Day in San Francisco, CA, earlier this month.
The Small Data Center gives enterprises the power of two AI infrastructures in a single system: centralized cloud infrastructure for deep reasoning and learning, and localized edge infrastructure for fast, context-rich execution closer to the work. The result is a more efficient and resilient way to deploy autonomous AI across real business operations.
As enterprise AI scales, the challenge is no longer only access to powerful models. It is how intelligently those models are deployed across cost, latency, privacy, security, uptime, and energy. For companies operating in the physical world, intelligence cannot live only in distant cloud environments. It also has to live where decisions are made — in branches, facilities, dispatch desks, supply yards, and field environments.
At the center of the Small Data Center is InstaBrain™, the orchestration layer of the InstaLILY platform and the company’s system of action. InstaBrain captures how a business actually works, including pricing logic, service history, policies, playbooks, workflow context, and operating judgment, and turns that knowledge into execution through AI. With the Small Data Center, InstaBrain now extends across cloud and edge, shifting workloads not only between large and small language models, but also between large and small data center environments.
In practice, heavy cognitive reasoning runs in the cloud, while real-time execution moves closer to the work itself. Large models handle broad reasoning, coordination, and learning. Smaller, specialized models run locally, where they can respond faster, cost less, and operate with greater privacy, security, and on-prem control. By combining small language models with small data centers, InstaLILY is designed to optimize enterprise intelligence from joules to tokens.
“We are entering an era where every business will increasingly need to think like a data center business,” said Amit Shah, Founder and CEO of InstaLILY. “The centralized cloud is running into an energy wall, and for autonomous AI to coordinate real-world logistics, branch operations, and frontline execution at scale, compute has to come closer to the work. The Small Data Center is how we extend InstaBrain into that world, so enterprises can deploy always-on intelligence with better economics, stronger control, and a tighter loop between knowledge and action.”
The Small Data Center builds on the hybrid architecture previously highlighted by Google, which described InstaLILY as effectively “two AIs in one,” pairing Gemini with Gemma-based models to deliver always-on intelligence across cloud and edge. With this release, InstaLILY extends that same hybrid logic from the model layer to the infrastructure layer itself. What began as a state-of-the-art hybrid model architecture now becomes a hybrid compute architecture spanning cloud and edge.
The Small Data Center was first revealed on stage at the Y Combinator x Google DeepMind Startups Day in San Francisco, CA, earlier this month, alongside keynotes from AI experts and luminaries, including Demis Hassabis and Gary Tan.
To power that localized architecture, the Small Data Center uses NVIDIA DGX Spark to run state-of-the-art open models at the edge. Built on NVIDIA architecture and supported by InstaLILY’s involvement in the NVIDIA Inception program, the Small Data Center gives enterprises a compact local deployment model for running meaningful AI while staying connected to the broader power of the cloud.
This architecture is designed to extract more value per watt, per token, and per inference cycle. In edge deployments for structured operational tasks, InstaLILY’s Gemma 4 candidate model achieved a 100% task success rate. Compared with larger baseline models, the local deployment delivered roughly 4x throughput, 76% lower median latency, and 74% lower per-request serving cost, while also producing the highest quote-grounding ratio in the evaluation suite.
That leap in localized, highly efficient execution is translating directly into operating leverage in the physical economy. InstaLILY’s architecture has already reduced field-team training time by 60%, compressed logistics case routing from 15 minutes to 3 minutes, and generated a 10% revenue uplift for industrial distributors by accelerating quote turnarounds.
Whether deployed in a commercial construction supply yard, a regional medical supply depot, an automotive branch network, or a cold-chain food distribution hub, the Small Data Center is designed for the parts of the economy where work is physical, workflows are complex, and the cost of delay is real. By bringing state-of-the-art infrastructure directly into the flow of work, InstaLILY enables enterprises to run more dependable AI with stronger privacy, more resilient local execution, and tighter control over sensitive operational data.
