In-Home Care Brand Marks 16th Year of Support for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Signature Fundraising Event
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. For Visiting Angels, America’s Choice in Home Care®, the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is one of the most important initiatives the in-home care brand supports each year.
Over the past 15 years, Visiting Angels has raised more than $5.3 million through the company’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising initiatives. Thousands of employees and their families at hundreds of locations nationwide have contributed to these efforts through community walks.
“This is one of the most important things we do all year,” said Scott Parrish, President of Visiting Angels. “Our caregivers regularly work with people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, so this is a cause that is very dear to our hearts. When you see people and their family members living with the effects of Alzheimer’s every day, it inspires our team to want to help. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a way we can make a difference in our communities and nationally.”
Over the past six years, Visiting Angels has consistently ranked in the Top 10 among companies raising money through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, including as the top-fundraising brand in the healthcare sector.
In 2025, Visiting Angels franchisees and caregivers raised $448,000 through fundraising efforts. Founder and CEO Larry Meigs donated an additional $500,000, bringing the year’s total to $948,000. This year, the company has set its sights higher, with a goal of eclipsing $1 million in contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, a target that will again include a $500,000 personal donation from Meigs.
“Our caregivers show up for families living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia every single day, and this is just an extension of that same commitment. Setting a $1 million-plus goal this year isn’t about the number for its own sake, it’s about matching the urgency our caregivers already bring to this fight,” said Larry Meigs, Founder and CEO of Visiting Angels.
Fundraising for this year’s walk is still underway. To date, nearly 1,000 participants across 168 teams have registered. In recognition of their efforts, Visiting Angels awards its Top 25 fundraising franchisees a donation to their local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.
