Wisconsin Native Ryann Liebl Returns Home to Film Powerful New Feature ‘Remember Me’

Award-winning Independent Filmmaker brings her next feature back to the Midwest state that shaped her.

Following the success of her independent feature Mags and Julie Go On A Roadtrip, filmed throughout Wisconsin and now streaming on major platforms, Liebl has announced that production on her newest feature film, Remember Me, will take place in her home state.

Remember Me is an emotional drama centered on family, legacy, forgiveness, and the difficult choices that define who we become. At its heart, the film asks a simple but powerful question: What does it truly mean to do the right thing?

For Liebl, bringing this story back to Wisconsin was never just about finding beautiful locations.

“It felt like the right place to tell this story.” Said Liebl. “Wisconsin has always been home. The people, the landscapes, and the values I grew up with helped shape who I am as a storyteller. After the incredible experience of making Mags and Julie Go On A Roadtrip here, I knew I wanted to return.”

Liebl has quietly become one of the busiest independent filmmakers working outside the traditional Hollywood system. In addition to Remember Me, she currently has four feature films in pre-production, including the comedy “Is This My Life?”, which is in its final stages before production begins in Scotland.

Her growing slate reflects more than ambition. It represents a deliberate commitment to building an independent career on her own terms.

In an industry where women continue to be underrepresented behind the camera, particularly as writer-director-producers, Liebl has carved out her own lane by creating original stories, launching her own production company, and producing films without waiting for permission from Hollywood gatekeepers.
